Rosacea

Rosacea is treated both medically as cosmetically. Red coloured bumps, papules, and nodules on facial skin is part of papulopustular rosacea, which is treated with medications and creams from your doctor. Flushing, redness, and ‘veiny’ appears is known as erythematotelangiectatic rosacea, which is treated cosmetically.

There are several methods of cosmetically reducing rosacea, from creams, to chemical peels, to light treatment.

For milder rosacea, we prefer to use chemical peels and topicals. However, for more intense rosacea, IPL is the gold standard of treatment.

IPL stands for “Intense Pulsed Light”. The skin can clear visibly after just one session and there is no required downtime. The added benefits of IPL phototherapy are numerous, including tightening of sagging or wrinkled skin, and collagen stimulation.

The consultants and experts at Aspire Skin Care will recommend specific skin care products and treatments based on your needs, and the nuances of your rosacea. We focus not only on treating your current rosacea, but also on maintaining the effects of your therapy. A selection of oral medications, topical medications, supplements and skin care products are available in our clinic or by medical prescription.
